Bon Voyage

Bon voyage is a new traveling app which provides accurate information about restaurants, attraction, hotels and events which is meant to give the user the best trip experience.

The Problem Statement  

The problem users face is not being able to find accurate travel information, finding food that is not over priced and finding places based on personal interest. Users goals are to maximize their time to finding new places when traveling by exploring, finding good food and making new friends that can guide in finding new interesting places locally.

The Market Research

The apps that I did a competitive analysis on are: Roadtrippers, Culture trip, and Expedia. Some of the takeaways from my research are listed below.

The User Perspective

100% said they are influenced by blogs/reviews.

66% have shown that their travel is influenced by local’s perspective.

100% are motivated to travel to learn about other cultures and their history.

100% are budget conscious and try to save money to travel multiple times in a year.

100% are looking for some app that will show them recommendations based on their interests.

66% used Instagram and specially the hashtags to plan their trips for food and places to visit.

66% mentioned something about apps not having enough information or not having updated information on them.

Logo

The logo is presented here in multiple ways to be used in different conditions. There is one with a darker background and a lighter background. There is sufficient clear space between the letters to allow the logo to be legible and not seem obstructed. The stripes going through the words is to represent rope that is used in various ways in exercise and staying fit.

I want the user to feel confident in making their travel plans and trust that the product is providing them with accurate information to make their trip worthwhile and memorable.

The Conclusion

Based on user testing, users found the app easy to use but still had some features in it that were not as intuitive. Majority of them suggested that the app should be kept simple so it can be easily navigated by anyone, not just the ones that are tech-savvy.They appreciated the look of the app including the pictures, typography and the colors.

Bon Voyage is created to make user feel confident in making their travel plans and trust that the product is providing them with accurate information to make their trip worthwhile and memorable.
